Welcome to Selwood
Welcome to Selwood Academy – an Anglican/Methodist Foundation School, catering for the middle years of education from 9-13.
We became an Academy on 1st December 2011, which means we benefit from having more autonomy over our budget and we will be able to maximise spending to fully develop the learning potential of each child, with the emphasis being on learning in its widest sense i.e. intellectually, socially, behaviourally, emotionally, culturally and morally.
Becoming an academy does not change our ethos one iota: we are still committed to our mantra ‘Each child is my child’, which means we will care for your child as if he/she were our own, whatever their needs.
We are justly proud of still being the only Anglican and Methodist middle school in the country, but we want to be unique by nature too, not just by name.
We work hard to create a safe and caring community where all pupils enjoy learning, all staff enjoy working and all parents feel proud of their child’s achievements.
We hope you find this website useful for relevant information about the school and we welcome any feedback on our website , whether favourable or suggestions for development.
Selwood Academy can only achieve the best for its pupils when we work in partnership with the community we serve.
Happy browsing
